Dr. Evelyn Mendoza is a dedicated hematologist/oncologist. Dr. Mendoza obtained her medical doctorate at the Cebu Institute of Medicine where she earned the National State Scholar award and graduated cum laude. She then served for a year at the Veterans Memorial Medical Center in the Philippines. At the State University of New York, Dr. Mendoza did her medical internship and residency and served as Chief Medical Resident.
Moving on to the University of California, Los Angeles, she became a hematology/oncology fellow and earned the honor of Outstanding Clinical Researcher for her work with the Clinical Cancer Research Program. She has also worked as a research associate for the development of monoclonal antibodies and the varicella vaccine.
Upon completion of her fellowship, Dr. Mendoza stayed at UCLA as Associate Director of the UCLA Cancer Center and Assistant Professor to the Department of Medicine at the UCLA Medical Center. Well-educated and well rounded, Dr. Mendoza went on to join Hematology Oncology Consultants.
Dr. Mendoza is a diplomat of the American College of Physicians, the American Society of Hematology and the American Society of Clinical Oncology. She also served on the Board of Directors for the American Cancer Society, Santa Clarita Valley Chapter from 1996 through 2000.
Those who know her say...Dr. Mendoza loves spending time with her family, her husband and two children. If she had more time, she would love to knit and play tennis.
